INFLUENCE OF EXAM STRESS ON BLOOD PRESSURE OF ISM STUDENTS

Abstract:

Exam stress is a common condition that students face before exams, and it is quite noticeable among medical students. This study examined the effect of exam stress on the blood pressure of students who were expected to appear on their academic exam. Sixty (60) first-year students (2019-2020 academic year) students ISM participated in the research. The systolic blood pressure index in the absence of examination was 117.98 8.5 mm Hg, which in students in the examination period increases to 142.05 12.3 mm Hg. Most of the students experienced stress before the exam. Stress caused a significant increase in systolic blood pressure.
